Our furniture is made from export grade Pinus radiata timber. This means the timber has a clean grain. We source our timber from two local timber merchants, Westimber and Westco Lagan. The timber is grown on renewable plantations on the West Coast of the South Island. Pinus radiata grown on the West Coast is renowned for its flowing, wavy grain. West Coast Pinus radiata is also known for its very light colour. It is the perfect timber for applying our paintwash/wax finish. Our Lime wax finish displays the timber grain, but at the same time allows different colour choices. To see the full range of colours, please visit your Virtue Furniture stockist. |

All timber is kiln dried. This means moisture content is reduced in a controlled environment. The timber is then resistant to splitting and warping. Expert kiln drying is an important quality feature.
We don't skimp on materials. Our aim is to make strong, well proportioned furniture.
Some alterations to standard furniture dimensions may be possible. We can also paint in “full colour” as compared with paint wash/Lime wax finish. Some paint colours are held in stock. We also offer a service of painting furniture in your specified colour. Please talk to your retailer if you require this service.
